This site is here, because I wanted to get some experience with HTML and web design.

I decided against showing pictures of my family, home or pets on this site. But what then instead? Everything seems to be on the web already - how to be special?

Then I remembered my old, half-forgotten hobby: collecting the book Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse in all possible languages. I am by no means a fanatic, but I like the book, as so many others do. I made some scans of the few copies I have, and added as many photos of the book cover as I could find on the web. The result can be found in my collection of Siddhartha book covers.

A few other books have made quite an impression and one widely known is The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. As you can now guess, I looked for photos of the book cover and placed them here: The Catcher in the Rye book covers.
